How a Passion for Petals Created the Ultimate Garden-Inspired Lip Balm

We are so excited to share that our founder, Montshona Ihekweazu, was recently featured in CanvasRebel Magazine! In the interview, she dives deep into the heart of Bloomgarten, sharing the passion, the "stovetop" beginnings, and the floral inspiration that makes our brand what it is today.

A Decade in the Making

Did you know that the original recipe for our tinted lip balms started over ten years ago? While attending business school, Montshona was already experimenting with formulas in her kitchen, selling early versions to her classmates. What began as a creative side project has blossomed into a high-performance beauty line that stays true to those original, clean roots.

Rooted in Nature

The name "Bloomgarten" isn't just a label, it’s a reflection of a life lived among wildflowers and meadows. Montshona’s background in floral design through Blooming Garden Flowers in Houston paved the way for a beauty brand that feels like it "bloomed from the same soil." We believe beauty should be intentional, simple, and connected to the natural world.

Built with Intention

From partnering with a woman-owned cosmetics lab to personally modelling every shade to ensure it works for everyone, every step of the Bloomgarten journey has been about integrity. We’ve traded "mystery chemicals" for ingredients you can actually pronounce, creating a product that bridges the gap between effortless "no-makeup" looks and high-performance glam.
